The Stain Library
How we research
How a page is made
We start by defining the stain and material, then look for relevant manufacturer instructions, material-care guidance, product safety information and technically credible cleaning sources. We store source links and research dates with the treatment record.
What we do not claim
We do not claim to have personally tested a method unless a page explicitly says so and documents that testing. A researched answer is not a guarantee that every item, finish, dye or previous treatment will react the same way.
Our publication rule
If the exact combination is not sufficiently researched, the finder says so. It records the anonymous demand for the editorial queue instead of guessing.
Keeping pages fresh
Review dates make it possible to prioritise high-traffic or safety-sensitive pages for a refresh when manufacturer information or product guidance changes.
