Your browser remembers your cookie choice. If you sign in to the admin area, a session cookie keeps you signed in, and the site owner's own browsers carry a cookie that keeps their visits out of the statistics. None of these is used for advertising.

Site statistics

On unless you turn them off. Your browser stores a random visit key that expires after 30 minutes without activity, and a note of whether it has visited before and on which day it was last counted, so visits and visitors can be counted without any lasting identifier. They are used only for statistics to improve this site and are never shared. Turning statistics off stops them and removes these items.

Changing your mind

Use the cookie settings link in the footer at any time.

Statcounter

If you choose Also allow Statcounter in cookie settings, this site also loads Statcounter, a third party visitor counting service, which sets its own cookies. It is not loaded at all unless you have allowed it.

Counting page loads

Separately from the choice above, our server adds one to a number each time a page is loaded, so we can see which pages people find useful. It is a page address, a date and a count. No cookie is set for it, nothing is stored in your browser, nothing is read from your browser and no request is made to any other company. It happens whichever button you press here, because there is nothing in it to consent to.
